Important Safety Information: Please be aware that this shop press is heavy and should only be mounted onto solid surfaces. Before beginning assembly, carefully read over both parts list and diagram before embarking on assembly process.
This add-on to a HF 20 Ton Bottle Jack Press allows the installation of a pressure gage. Furthermore, two height adjustment frame holes above the lowered swag brake can also be utilized by this mod.
Assembly Instructions
This 20-ton press is specifically designed for jewelry studio environments and safely bends and shapes work pieces without welds on its frame (except between upper and lower platens ). Bolts, nuts, and support brackets make this strong, rigid machine which has a space between platens of 7 inches with standard height jack and 9 inches when using low profile jack. For durability and an aesthetically pleasing finish powder-coating protects it.
Modifying a bottle jack to add a pressure gauge to your HF 20-ton hydraulic press can be done relatively easily; however, patience and careful consideration may be required in this process. You should familiarize yourself with its capacity; misuse could result in injury. Taking some measurements on your jack before beginning modification will allow you to determine what size of pressure gauge will best meet your needs.
Parts List
Home mechanics or small repair shops will appreciate this 20-ton press for its versatility in shaping metal easily and loosening seized parts and replacing bearings. Built from rugged powder-coated steel construction with an eye-catching look, its manual hand pump allows incremental force application as required - up to 9 height adjustments spaced 4-3/4" apart can be set via nine height pins on its work table while two heel blocks provide support for workpieces.

Safety Instructions
A ram exerts significant forces during operation. Therefore, care must be taken when using it in order to avoid injury to yourself or others. Only use accessories suitable for dealing with its immense forces; otherwise this tool may break or forcefully launch parts during use.
This modification allows HF's 20 ton bottle jack (used for their press) to be equipped with a pressure gage, opening up passageway into piston area of this particular model of jack only.
Important Safety Information: Read all text under subheadings within this manual's IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS section before setting up or using this tool. Inspect it regularly for damage, loose or missing parts; if problems are discovered do not use until repaired; trained service personnel should perform such repairs and maintenance of jacks.
Maintenance Instructions
The HF 20 ton hydraulic press is an invaluable shop tool, ideal for bending, shaping and forming metal, loosening seized parts and replacing bearings, pressing parts to be welded as well as loosening seized ones. The basic design includes heavy springs that slowly push up against gravity; either using manual hand pumps or electric hydraulic systems for better control.
Modifying an HF 20 ton press with just a simple modification allows you to easily add a pressure gage and monitor how much force is being applied by its jack. This modification takes only 5 minutes or so and is completely hands-off!
Always inspect your product prior to use, checking for loose or damaged components. Use the Parts List and Assembly Diagram at the end of this manual as a visual checklist for this inspection process, recording its serial number if possible and always wearing safety equipment while operating this power tool - common sense and caution are essential elements that cannot be programmed into its design; they must come from its operator alone.
