Hydraulic Press for Olive Oil Extraction
time:2023-03-16 views:(点击 951 次)To begin the production of olive oil, the first step involves grinding olives with a stone mill. This paste then gets spread onto woven mats - traditionally made from esparto grass or goat hair but more recently plastics - for spreading onto woven floors.
These mats are stacked and compressed to force out liquids such as oil and water, then the decanted mixture is filtered for improved clarity.
1. Extraction Process
Olive paste is made by pressing under pressure to separate the oil phase from other two components (olive pomace, vegetation water). This method has been practiced for thousands of years and remains widely used today.
A hammer-shaped piece of stainless steel captures olives from above and throws them against a fixed or mobile metal grating, usually at high speed. This hammer can be constructed with toothed disks or cylinders to optimize crushing action.
Modern hammer-shaped pieces have replaced old granite millstones and now can be made of stainless steel. Compared to their older counterparts, modern hammer-shaped pieces are less brittle and can be set for either a lower or higher frequency depending on the quality desired.
The oil is separated from the pomace through centrifugation in a decanter centrifuge, using Stoke's law to determine the speed at which non-miscible liquids separate. This continuous process has the advantage of not needing additional water for diluting the finished product.
2. Equipment
Hydraulic presses are one of the most commonly used machines for oil extraction. It consists of a hydraulic pump, control valve, motor, electrical cabinet, oil cylinder, material barrel and frame.
This equipment boasts high pressure, high oil yield, excellent oil quality and ease of operation. It can be applied to a variety of raw materials like sesame seeds, pine seed, hemp seeds, white sesame seeds, rapeseed, cottonseed, flax seed or soybean oil etc..
Furthermore, the press is environmentally friendly as it prevents trans fatty acids and oil polymers. Furthermore, its safety and health for operators make it an attractive option.
Two-phase centrifugation is more resistant to oxidation than oil produced from three or hydraulic presses, as it contains more phenols, tocopherols, trans-2-hexenal and total aroma compounds. Unfortunately, due to wear from rocks, sand and grit from mining operations, the flavor may become bitterer than usual.
3. Maintenance
Hydraulic presses are essential tools in the olive oil extraction process. They offer many advantages, such as high efficiency, low energy consumption, excellent oil cake quality and ease of operation.
The hydraulic press presses olive paste to extract oil from its pomace. Pressure is generated using filter diaphragms stacked alternately in an arrayed tower.
By applying pressure, compression can effectively separate olive paste from pomace and produce extra-virgin olive oil.
Maintaining the hydraulic press is essential for efficient daily work and requires routine cleaning and changing parts. All parts should be cleaned, lubricated, and adjusted as necessary to guarantee proper working of the press.
Hydraulic presses are powerful machines, so it should only be operated by a qualified technician who can perform maintenance and repairs. Regular upkeep will extend the life of the equipment, boost production efficiency and cut down on replacement parts costs.
4. Safety
A hydraulic press is an invaluable tool for exerting intense pressure on objects. Blacksmiths frequently utilize it to shape metal and other products.
Hydraulic presses are employed in a wide variety of industries, such as forging, clinching, molding, blanking, punching and deep drawing.
The primary benefits of using a hydraulic press are its efficiency and precision control, as well as improved repeatability.
Furthermore, it reduces the potential risk of injury and damage to employees and equipment. Plus, it's simple to clean and maintain.
