Adjusting the Weight
Hydraulic presses differ from weight machines in that they use a pump to create an adjustable set pressure that determines force rated in tons. This pressure forces the pressing cylinder to expand, pressuring against material.
Presses can be adjusted to different heights using a lever that can be pulled or pushed, enabling easy height changes. A quick tap will stop the ram from dropping if it seems impossible to finish lifting, and this feature eliminates pins like those found on traditional presses while decreasing fatigue levels.
