A couple has become YouTube stars by operating a factory with a huge hydraulic press and making videos of themselves crushing everyday items in it. It's very satisfying stuff!
Lauri and Anni Vuohensilta's Hydraulic Press YouTube channel has amassed more than 10 million subscribers since it first went live five years ago, prompting them to expand into Beyond The Press as a secondary channel.
Lauri Vuohensilta
Lauri Vuohensilta, a factory owner from Finland, has become famous online through his YouTube channel Hydraulic Press Channel. On each video he uses his hydraulic press to crush various objects with power. In its first year alone Beyond the Press amassed 325,000 subscribers!
The success of this channel lies in both its educational and entertaining qualities. It shows how a simple hydraulic press can destroy various objects, including sponges, rubber band balls, crayons and even real human teeth - an impressive feat which has captured millions of viewers around the world - often going viral along with providing some unexpected humor that sets it apart from most YouTube channels.
Vuohensilta not only shows off the incredible power of his hydraulic press, but he also shares technical aspects regarding how the machine operates and provides tips on how to safely use one. His videos have become quite popular over time. He has become something of an internet celebrity due to their immense popularity.
Lauri is part of a family-owned machining shop where hydraulic presses are among the many tools he utilizes for metal part production. When starting his YouTube channel to demonstrate just how powerful this machine was, however, it quickly became popular and even won a Shorty Award in 2017 for best "weird" video! Vuohensilta attributes his success to both unexpected results and his distinct accent as reasons behind his success.
Vuohensilta's hydraulic press videos have proven so successful that he was able to purchase a larger press that can crush more objects. He plans on creating even more videos in the near future as well as starting up "Beyond the Press", where both him and Anni demonstrate how to make things with hydraulic presses.
After their marriage ended in 2022, they have remained close. Recently they collaborated on videos for their new show set to air in 2023 as well as opening a burger joint together.
Anni Vuohensilta
Lauri and Anni Vuohensilta started creating their signature internet videos nearly five years ago by crushing everyday objects with hydraulic presses in their family workshop, creating their own genre and amassing more than 10 million followers across major social media platforms. Recently, they unveiled the Smashinator: an enormous machine capable of crushing everything from Nokia 3310s and Lego sets to playing cards.
This couple have built an empire thanks to their quirky sense of humor and willingness to try out bizarre experiments. Additionally, their videos have generated much interest by including elements of surprise or danger in each one; one video even added liquid nitrogen for extra kick.
Anni is more than just a YouTube influencer; she's also an entrepreneur and IPF powerlifter, an avid cyclist (she organizes an annual cycling event called Ratareisi 24h) who spends much of her free time caring for cats - such as Leo who passed away recently.
Although she hasn't posted new videos to YouTube for quite some time now, she remains active on Instagram and maintains her own personal website where she shares photos from daily life and travel adventures.
One of the most captivating elements of the Hydraulic Press Channel is watching how ordinary items react when put under immense force. Sponge balls, rubber band balls, crayons, and sponges become putty-like goop, while watching smartphones melt under the Smashinator is equally captivating.
Lauri and Anni have gained immense fame thanks to their unique accents, often used for comedic purposes in videos. In particular, they specialize in mispronouncing words in English to add comic relief; one example being their referential use of pineapples as "ananas".
The Hydraulic Press
The Hydraulic Press is a YouTube channel featuring objects being crushed with hydraulic presses. Created and operated by Finnish workshop owner Lauri Vuohensilta and his wife Anni out of their machining shop in Tampere, Finland - The Hydraulic Press has become a tremendously successful channel attracting millions of subscribers; critics credit its success to its simple concept, Vuohensilta's humorous tone, and his distinct Finnish accent; earning both silver and gold YouTube Play Button is currently underway.
A hydraulic press is a machine that uses Pascal's Principle to generate massive forces. It consists of two cylinders: one small slave cylinder and one larger master cylinder, each equipped with pistons for applying pressure to hydraulic fluid inside and then passing this pressure along to act as an actuator in turn.
One reason this type of machine is so popular is due to its ability to generate high amounts of force in a relatively compact space, enabling companies to produce quality parts with minimal waste or effort. Furthermore, these machines typically allow stops during their cycle for quick adjustment for specific applications.
Another advantage of the hydraulic press is that it operates with very low noise levels, making it ideal for companies concerned with employee health and wellbeing. Excessive noise levels may lead to stress, fatigue, physical problems as well as increase employee turnover and decrease productivity.
The hydraulic press is an invaluable piece of machinery used by numerous companies across various industries. Although often associated with auto production, its uses extend far beyond this field - for instance creating parts for refrigerators or washing machines as well as creating molds to cast metal objects.
Beyond The Press
One of the most captivating YouTube channels of late has been The Hydraulic Press Channel, created by Lauri Vuohensilta of Finnish workshop owner Lauri Vuohensilta to playfully destroy objects with hydraulic presses. While he wasn't looking for internet fame initially, his unique brand of crushing objects with hydraulic presses quickly earned a loyal audience online. Videos posted to his channel show this technique being used not only for crushing but also straightening bent excavator shovels and changing wheel bearings on cars!
YouTube channel Vuohensiltas boasts more than 51 million total views across its entire catalog. Their videos often offer comedic or entertaining entertainment for their viewers, and their signature accent is one that stands out.
Though their channel may not be professional studio, Vuohensiltas use their shop on a regular basis to complete actual repairs for clients and tasks for themselves. When necessary, they even employ their hydraulic press to straighten bent excavator shovels; but only when absolutely necessary do they destroy things outright as doing so could cost them business or be dangerous for themselves and those around them.
Since becoming popular, the channel has expanded beyond its signature machine. Now known as Beyond the Press, The Vuohensiltas use their skills and their patented hydraulic press to destroy non-staple items with their signature press - not quite so easily dismantleable by mechanical systems such as heavy hydraulic equipment.
Their latest video involves firing an old clothing mannequin named Johnny out of a homemade air cannon. Both husband and wife teams take great precautions to ensure safety during more dangerous demonstrations; operating the hydraulic press from behind thick safety glass barriers for example.
The Vuohensiltas find steel pipes especially satisfying and safe to crush, although they have also destroyed an older Nokia 3310 phone and plan on smashing a motorcycle engine soon.
