How to Draw in Hydraulic Press

Hydraulic presses are versatile pieces of machinery used for deep drawing, shell reductions, urethane bulging, blanking, coining, punching and stamping applications. Unlike mechanical presses, the hydraulic press provides full power throughout its stroke - giving users maximum flexibility across a variety of applications.
Hydraulic systems contain two or more cylinders that generate pressure to force ram into anvil and die to complete desired operation.
The Lead Screw
The lead screw is an element that converts rotary to linear motion. Comprised of a screw shaft and nut that provide power transmission, they're used in applications like industrial automation, defense and transportation.
Lead screws come in many varieties of thread types, pitches, leads and starts that make selecting an appropriate linear screw an important decision.
Square threads feature a zero degree thread angle, eliminating radial strain between nut and screw while reducing friction, leading to optimal torque conversion efficiency (converting torque into thrust). As a result, these square threads lead to some of the highest efficiency rates among lead screw types.
ACME lead screws generally offer lower efficiency than ball screws due to their helix angles; however, ball screws tend to require less power for operation and higher speeds than their ACME counterparts of equal diameter. Furthermore, their ball-and-recirculating ball design reduces friction to such an extent that backlash issues become irrelevant.
The Safety Guard
Machine shops and factory floors may not always provide the safest working environments, even if thorough safety procedures are implemented. Heavy machinery like hydraulic presses may present an elevated risk of injury to nearby operators if proper precautions aren't adhered to.
One effective method of mitigating risk is ensuring all the appropriate guards are installed and functioning as intended. To do this, equipment should be carefully examined prior to being used - including scrutinizing any guards or shields attached.
Coiled-wire fabric ejection curtains provide organizations with superior protection from flying or rolling debris during machine operation. Tailored specifically to H-frame insertion hydraulic presses, it features polycarbonate windows to block high-speed projections as well as an open microswitch system that stops the press when the safeguards open, providing even further operator safety.
