Frame
A hydraulic press's frame serves as the heart and soul, connecting all its moving parts. As such, it must be strong and stable enough to handle high levels of pressure while being easy to operate and maintain.

A hydraulic forging press comprises of a hydraulic cylinder, oil tank, piston and pressing plate. The cylinder contains the piston that applies pressure to the workpiece while the oil tank stores hydraulic fluid for the system. A pump drives this piston while an integrated pressure gauge measures pressure levels within the cylinder.

Their rotors capture part of the inlet hydraulic fluid as they spin while being evenly pushed along their axis to force out through one end of the pump resulting in constant pressure without fluctuations or metal-to-metal contact.

As with any piece of machinery, hydraulic presses require proper care and maintenance to ensure their safe use and functionality. Under constant stress from pressure and heat, they must be checked regularly to detect any potential failure or injury risk posed by such large machines; accidents involving hydraulic presses can often have catastrophic results.
There are various kinds of hydraulic presses, each designed for specific uses. One such press is a toggle press, which employs a balanced toggle mechanism to apply force horizontally; although capable of applying significant pressure, this particular model cannot move the material as quickly. Meanwhile, other types such as ram hydraulic presses use hydraulic systems to apply unidirectional pressure which allow greater metal movement but don't move as quickly.
